In evidence synthesis projects, grey literature is used to refer to any sources that are not published in traditional scholarly journals. These would include sources like:

  • clinical trials
  • conference proceedings, abstracts, posters or presentations
  • preprints
  • professional association websites
  • government reports
  • social media posts
  • interviews
  • grant proposals
  • theses and dissertations
