You should plan to search at LEAST three databases when conducting a systematic review. It is common to search more than three to ensure a thorough review of the literature. There are common databases that should be included in your search when doing a systematic review. These include:

  • Medline (either OVID or PubMed)
  • Embase

You can then select more subject specific databases that may be right for your topic:

  • CINAHL
  • PsycINFO
  • ERIC
  • Cochrane Library

You can find a listing of the database RFUMS has access to on our Electronic Resources List.
