The library has created a guide to outline what services are impacted due to COVID-19: https://guides.rosalindfranklin.edu/COVID19BLservices
Electronic Resources Access: Remains Unchanged.
-
Articles, eBooks, and databases will remain to be accessible off campus via the HelixNet login. As a reminder if you are having trouble with your password, call the IT Helpdesk at (847)578-8800. Remember they cannot reset the passwords over email.
-
Library resources can be accessed at https://www.rosalindfranklin.edu/library/.
UpToDate verification: Remains Unchanged.
-
If you get a message on your app that your UpToDate access has expired, go to https://rosalindfranklin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://www.uptodate.com/contents/search and enter the UpToDate username and password you created at registration for the app, then click Login.
Access to items at the Circulation Desk: (Reserve Textbooks, anatomical models, chargers, whiteboard markers, etc): Limited availability
-
Circulation services are available between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday - Friday.
Study Spaces in the Library: Available
-
The LRC is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. More information available here.
Email Reference Assistance: Remains Unchanged.
-
The librarians will continue to monitor the eresources@rosalindfranklin.edu on a daily basis. If a request comes in during regular business hours you should expect a response by the end of the business day. If it happens after hours you should expect a response by the next morning.
Online chat with the Librarians: New!
-
One of the new services the library is testing is using an online chat service for reference help during business hours. Access this service from the library homepage or the guide to resources during the remote period.
Appointments: Online Only Through Zoom
-
Due to the librarians working remotely, all in-person appointments are suspended until staff is back on site. Librarians can do appointments via video conference through Zoom. If you would like to set up an appointment, please use the Schedule an Appointment with a librarian form.
Interlibrary Loan & Print2PDF: Processing Times and Availability May be Affected
- Processing times for ILL services may be impacted. Many other libraries have ceased operations, which will affect what materials we can provide for you. Please be patient as we work to serve you in this unique time.
- Physical items, including Print2PDF materials, may be requested Requesting specific chapters instead of whole books may speed processing times.
