It is possible to search by author in most databases. Look for the search limit commands. The location of these commands will vary from database to database. For example, the command to search by author in LibrarySearch is located on the main search screen in a drop-down menu next to the search bar. In PubMed, it is best to click the "Single Citation Matcher" link found on the front page to search by author.
